DocuRadar® is designed with privacy as a core principle.
Your documents are processed locally on your device. DocuRadar® does not upload your documents, extracted text, or search queries to DocuRadar®-operated servers.
Certain optional features and third-party services, described below, may transmit limited information outside your device. In particular, DocuRadar® integrates the Meta SDK and offers an optional Google Drive backup feature.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use DocuRadar®.
1. Information Processed by DocuRadar®
DocuRadar® does not require you to create an account or provide personal information in order to use its core document scanning and search functionality.
Documents you scan or import, text extracted from those documents, document indexes, and search queries are processed locally on your device.
DocuRadar® does not operate a cloud service for storing or processing your documents.
In particular, we do not upload to our servers:
- documents you scan or import;
- images contained in your documents;
- text extracted from your documents;
- document indexes;
- search queries; or
- document search results.
Exceptions relating to optional Google Drive backups and third-party SDKs are described below.
2. Local Document Processing
DocuRadar®'s core document processing is performed on your device.
This includes, where applicable:
- scanning documents;
- importing documents;
- optical character recognition (OCR);
- extracting text;
- indexing documents; and
- searching document contents.
DocuRadar® does not use remote AI or cloud-based OCR services to process your documents.
Your documents and extracted text are not sent to external AI services for processing and are not used by DocuRadar® to train artificial intelligence models.
3. No DocuRadar® Account Required
DocuRadar® does not require a DocuRadar® account to use its core functionality.
We therefore do not maintain a DocuRadar® cloud account containing your document library, document contents, or search history.
4. Device Permissions
DocuRadar® may request access to device features when necessary to provide functionality you choose to use.
Camera
Camera access may be requested when you choose to scan a document.
Images captured for document scanning are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to DocuRadar®-operated servers.
Photos and Files
DocuRadar® may request access to photos, documents, or files when you choose to import content from your device.
This access is used to perform the action you request.
You can manage device permissions through your operating system settings.
5. Optional Google Drive Backup
DocuRadar® may provide an optional feature that allows you to back up your data to Google Drive.
Google Drive backup is not required to use DocuRadar®'s core functionality and is initiated or enabled by you.
If you choose to use this feature, the data included in the backup will be transferred from your device to your Google Drive account.
This means that data included in a Google Drive backup will leave your device at your direction.
The backup is stored and processed using Google's services and is therefore subject to Google's applicable terms, security practices, and privacy policy.
DocuRadar® does not operate Google Drive and does not control Google's independent processing of information stored using its services.
You are responsible for managing your Google account, Google Drive storage, backups, and any data you choose to store there.
Disabling or deleting data from DocuRadar® does not necessarily delete copies that you have previously backed up to Google Drive. You may need to manage or delete those backups separately through the relevant Google services.
6. Meta SDK
DocuRadar® integrates software provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. and/or its affiliates (“Meta SDK”).
Depending on the version and configuration of the Meta SDK, Meta may receive limited technical information and information about interactions with the application.
This may include information such as:
- app installation events;
- app launch events;
- purchase events, where applicable;
- app interaction or event information;
- device or operating system information; and
- identifiers or other technical information made available to the Meta SDK in accordance with device settings, operating-system restrictions, user consent, and the SDK configuration.
The exact information processed may depend on your device, operating system, privacy settings, consent choices, and the configuration of the Meta SDK.
DocuRadar® does not intentionally provide Meta with:
- your documents;
- document images;
- text extracted from your documents;
- document indexes;
- your document search queries; or
- your document search results.
Information processed independently by Meta is subject to Meta's own privacy practices and applicable terms.
Where required by applicable law, DocuRadar® will request appropriate consent before enabling processing that requires such consent.
7. Analytics, Measurement and Tracking
DocuRadar® does not use document contents, OCR results, or search queries for advertising.
The Meta SDK may be used to measure application events, installations, engagement, attribution, or other application-related activity depending on its configuration.
Some information processed through the Meta SDK may be transmitted to Meta.
DocuRadar® does not use Meta SDK functionality to intentionally transmit the contents of your documents or searches to Meta.
Where operating-system rules or applicable law require user permission for tracking or similar processing, DocuRadar® will respect the applicable permission and consent mechanisms.
8. Crash Reporting
DocuRadar® does not currently use a remote crash-reporting service that automatically sends application crash reports to DocuRadar®-operated servers.
Your operating system or app distribution platform may independently collect diagnostic or crash information according to its own settings and privacy practices.
9. Internet Connection
DocuRadar®'s core document scanning, OCR, indexing, and search functionality is designed to operate locally and does not require your documents to be sent to a remote DocuRadar® server.
An internet connection may nevertheless be required for features or services including:
- optional Google Drive backup;
- communications involving the Meta SDK;
- app downloads and updates;
- purchases or subscription validation, where applicable; and
- services independently provided by Apple, Google, Meta, your operating system, or your device manufacturer.
10. Data Sharing
DocuRadar® does not sell your documents or document contents.
We do not share your documents, OCR text, or search queries with third parties for advertising purposes.
Limited technical or application-event data may be processed by Meta through the Meta SDK as described in this Privacy Policy.
Data may also be transferred to Google when you explicitly use the optional Google Drive backup feature.
We may also disclose information if required to do so by applicable law or a valid legal obligation.
11. Data Retention and Deletion
Documents, extracted text, indexes, and other document-related application data are primarily stored locally on your device.
You can remove locally stored documents using DocuRadar®'s available functionality.
Deleting DocuRadar® from your device will generally remove locally stored application data, subject to the behavior of your operating system and any backups you have independently enabled.
Google Drive backups
If you have created a Google Drive backup, deleting local DocuRadar® data or uninstalling DocuRadar® may not automatically delete the corresponding Google Drive backup.
You may need to delete that backup separately from your Google account or Google Drive.
Meta data
Information transmitted to and processed by Meta through the Meta SDK may be retained by Meta in accordance with Meta's applicable privacy policies, settings, and retention practices.
12. Information You Send Us Voluntarily
If you contact us directly, for example for customer support, we may receive information that you voluntarily provide, such as:
- your name;
- your email address;
- the contents of your message;
- device or application information you choose to provide; and
- attachments you voluntarily send.
We use this information to respond to your request, provide support, troubleshoot issues, and maintain necessary correspondence.
Please do not send confidential documents or sensitive personal information to support unless necessary for us to assist you.
13. Third-Party Services
DocuRadar® may interact with third-party services, including:
- Meta;
- Google Drive;
- Apple App Store;
- Google Play; and
- operating-system services provided by Apple or Google.
These companies may process information independently under their own terms and privacy policies.
Their privacy practices are not controlled by DocuRadar®.
14. Children's Privacy
DocuRadar® does not intentionally collect the contents of users' documents on DocuRadar®-operated servers.
We do not knowingly use document contents or search queries to profile children or provide targeted advertising.
If you believe that personal information relating to a child has been provided directly to us, please contact us so that we can review the matter and, where appropriate, delete the information under our control.
15. Security
DocuRadar® is designed to reduce privacy risks by keeping document processing, OCR, indexing, and search on your device.
However, no device, application, network transmission, or third-party service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate security for your device and for any Google account or cloud backup you choose to use.
We recommend using device authentication, keeping your operating system updated, and protecting access to any account used for backups.
16. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, applicable data-protection laws may provide rights relating to your personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing.
Because DocuRadar® does not maintain a cloud-based document account, we generally cannot access or retrieve the documents stored locally on your device.
Requests concerning information processed independently by Meta or Google may also need to be submitted directly to those providers.

17. International Data Processing
Third-party providers such as Meta and Google may process information in countries other than the country in which you live.
Any such processing is governed by those providers' applicable privacy terms and legal safeguards, as well as applicable data-protection law.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when DocuRadar®'s functionality, third-party integrations, technical architecture, or legal obligations change.
When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy.
Material changes may also be communicated through the application or other appropriate means where required.
